Kyle and Bryan grew up on the family farm at Tyne Valley,PEI, learning the production side of potatoes. Upon graduation from high school, Kyle was encouraged to complete his red seal certification as a precision machinist while Bryan obtained his business diploma.

After ten years of Bryan working on the family’s farm and Kyle working in the aerospace industry they decided to pursue their love of farming together. The brothers, with help from their mother, purchased a portion of the family farm when it was being disposed of in 2015. Farmboys Inc began.

Kyle and Bryan found they knew the production side of potatoes but had a steep learning curve to overcome when it came to understanding the business side. They knew they wanted to focus on quality, yield and profitability.  They have invested in new equipment and are planting winter wheat to help with the soil erosion issues they face on their 3000 acres of land.

During the winter months the brothers learn and expand their knowledge base on farming practices by traveling to other parts of the country or world to learn how others do things in hopes of bringing some valuable information home.

The brothers feel financial management adds value to their operation because knowing the financial position of the farm at all times, while focusing on managing cash flow has allowed them to invest in more land and equipment in their short four years of operation.

The Maynard’s support their local community by hosting an annual rec hockey tournament and participating in the “Rock the Boat” music festival.
